Mission of the 857th Security Police Group
The mission of 857th Security Police Group is to provide both Law Enforcement and Security for Minot AFB. The Law Enforcement mission was to ensure that all personal on the base lived and worked in a safe and secure enviroment. The Security mission was to provide protection for all operational resources including B-52's & EC-135's on alert status. On June 1, 1992 SAC became a part of history as did the 857th SPG. With the combining of SAC and TAC. The Air Combat Command took over and the 5th Security Police Squadron took over flightline security and law enforcement of Minot AFB.
